How VeinViewer® Works

  • 1. NIR light is projected onto the skin and absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood.

  • 2. Surrounding tissue reflects the light back to the device.

  • 3. An onboard processor creates an HD, digital full-field image of the veins and projects it directly onto the patient’s skin in real time—no gels, dyes, or patches required.

This gives phlebotomists a “map” of the vasculature that moves with the patient, so they can adjust their approach as needed throughout the draw.
